Job Description - Responsible for all transportation activities, operations, and forecasts including department P&L
- Recruit, hire, train, appraise, and coach team members
- Making cost-effective contract with customers and trucking partners
- Ensuring compliance with company, federal, state and local transportation regulations
- Ensuring all customer service standards are met
- Manage and Assist with sales activities
- Ensure safety of employees, contracted vehicles, and facilities through training and monitoring
- Enforce policies and procedures
- Establishing Standard Operations Procedures for in-land transportation
- Other duties as requested
Job Requirement - BA, BS degree in business or related major preferred. Additional certificates and licenses in related field highly regarded
- At minimum 7 plus years of supervisory/management experience in transportation, warehousing, distribution, and logistics related field. 10 or more years preferred.
- Previous sales experience is a plus
- A dynamic, motivated, responsible leader
- Solid understanding of finance, accounting and cost analysis work experience is a plus
- A dedicated individual with good integrity in the industry
- Skilled in planning, staffing, budgeting, and organizing
- Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
- Project planning skills and proven analytical skills
- Highly self motivated with keen attention to detail
- Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
- Extensive knowledge of MS Office, especially MS Excel is a must
- Previous experience and understanding of different logistics system is a plus
